Used equipment values from real sold prices

Equipment Values is a free used equipment value reference built on real sales: 116,979 heavy equipment, farm machinery and truck sales at Ritchie Bros., Purple Wave and the Sandhills auctioneers in the 24 months through November 3, 2026, by make, model and year.

Used equipment value calculator

Pick the type, make and model of used heavy equipment, truck or tractor, then enter the year and meter hours. The calculator returns the median sold price and the range from closed sales of that model in the last 24 months. The figures are closed sales, not asking prices or dealer list prices, so they show what a used tractor, excavator, skid steer or semi truck actually brings.

Used equipment values by type

Equipment Values covers 22 types of construction equipment, farm equipment and trucks; each page shows the median sold price, the range and the latest sales for that type.

How are used equipment prices moving?

Used semi truck prices were down 0.3% on the month at auction in October 2026, across 3,436 sales.

Questions about used equipment values

How much is my used equipment worth?

Used equipment sells for about what comparable machines brought in real sales: the same make and model, close in year, with similar hours or miles. Equipment Values tracks 116,979 closed sales of heavy equipment, farm machinery and trucks from the 24 months through November 3, 2026. Enter the type, model and year above for the median, the range and every sale behind them.

Is there a blue book for used heavy equipment?

There is no Kelley Blue Book for heavy equipment: kbb.com values cars, light trucks and motorcycles. The guides that exist are paid subscriptions: J.D. Power's Official Commercial Truck Guide (formerly NADA) for class 2 to 8 trucks and trailers, Iron Solutions' IronGuides for farm tractors and combines, and EquipmentWatch for construction equipment values and rental rates. Equipment Values shows what each make and model actually sold for, free, from 116,979 closed sales in the 24 months through November 3, 2026.

Where do Equipment Values’ sold prices come from?

Equipment Values' prices are closed sales in US dollars, read from the auction houses' public results today (Ritchie Bros., Purple Wave and the Sandhills auctioneers), with the house, the date and the place named on every row. Public sale records, such as county sealed-bid sales, and dealer sales are the next sources being added. A sale counts once, and lots that sold several machines for one price are left out.

How much does an equipment appraisal cost?

An equipment appraisal from Equipment Values starts at $295 for a desktop report on one machine. Rhett Crites, CMEA, and his team prepare it to USPAP, the national appraisal standard, for a lender, a court, the IRS or a buyer. On-site and fleet work is quoted.

How Equipment Values calculates its prices

Every figure comes from closed auction sales in US dollars from the 24 months through November 3, 2026: 116,979 sales counted of 273,768 gathered. Lots that sold several machines for one price, and sales in other currencies, are left out. Sales held outside the United States are left out of every figure; those priced in US dollars are listed with a tag. The median is the middle sale; low and high are the 10th and 90th percentiles.

Price basis for every figure: hammer price, before the buyer's premium; where the source states no hammer (Sandhills auctioneers), the price as published. Each sale is listed at the price the house published, with its basis.

From a sold price to your machine's value

A sold price is what machines like yours brought in real sales: the medians on this site come from 116,979 closed sales of the same makes, models and years. A sold price is evidence for a value, not the value of your own machine.

Your machine's value depends on its own hours or miles, condition and configuration, and on what the value is for. A certified appraisal by Rhett Crites, CMEA, and his team weighs those against closed sales like these, from $295.

How does a certified equipment appraisal work?

  1. Order online

  2. Send photos and records

  3. Get the report

Rhett Crites, CMEA, and his team value your machine against closed sales like the ones on this site and write the report to USPAP.
